Well done CAZW1405! Congratulations! Wish you the very best.

I sent my application in on 07/04, got an acknowledgement by email on the 17/04. Had my medicals done on the 28/04 but they were not sent to Australia House until last Friday 09/05. Police checks were forwarded on the 29/04.

Have been wondering how they let you know and have had my mobile on my desk at work right in front of me and checking it every few minutes for missed calls. With the maths for your case in mind we should hopefully hear at the end of next week. Permanent visa would be nice!!!

When do you plan to go!

Hope you enjoyed the champagne!!

Hi,

Not opened the champagne yet!! Can't believe my will power!! I am just about to enjoy a glass or 6!!!

Yeah they definately send an email, I was sat here doing my own head in looking at flights I could not book!! And it just dropped into my inbox! Saw it flash up it was from Australian Govt so quickly opened it and voila!!!

Planning to go first week in September!! Thanks for all the lovely congrats messages!!

Going to get very merry now !!

I gave my application to Australia House on Wednesday last week. I'm applying for a de facto visa and even though it hasn't been a full week, I am so impatient as my fiance just moved into a place he found for us in Toorak, Melbourne today. I want to be there too!!!

We're going the de facto route as I did not want to rush to settle in and plan a wedding in 9 months.

I gave them soooooo much last week, that the guy actually gave me some back...oh well...fingers crossed now!!!

Hi Lil

Thanks for thinking of me when you enjoyed your cookie!! I will do the same for you when you get yours!

good luck with it all and just think you will soon be in your new house with your lovely OH!

Keep in touch,

Caz x

Hi

Got this email from LCU in Sydney this morning. What does it mean????

''Thank you for your enquiry.

I can confirm that the medicals for {my name} were received and
succesfully processed on 12 May 2008. The visa case officer has access to this information.''

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!

I don't know what it means, usually the medicals are just processed in London so not sure why Sydney are replying. Good thing is though that you now know they have "processed" the medical - I'd suggest you just forward a copy of that email to your case officer and say that you aren't sure what it means and look forward to hearing from them soon fingers crossed with a positive response to your visa application!

Not sure what that means, but if I got that, I would probably be excited as that would mean some contact from them!

At least it says the medical were successful...!!!

Hi,

Just wanted to introduce myself and get to know some people who can give me advice on a De-Facto Spouse visa and who are going through the same thing.

The forms we have completed are:

47SP - me
40SP - OH
888 - OH's family in Oz plus her Dad, Sister, my Mum & Dad.

I think i have got all the certification done, just checking that at the moment.

Meds are booked for 30/5/8

Police check done.

Can anyone see if im missing anything?

Great site, has helped me so much with preperation and also the advice i have read of others doing it themselves has given me the confidence.

Congrats on your visa Caz you lucky, lucky bugger

Having a few worries about the medical side of things, especially as I have suffered from moderate depression with self harm back in 2002/2003. I really, REALLY hope this wont be a big issue and is the one big worry I have with my application :(

I'm hoping to get my GP to write a letter stating I havent been on medication for the last 4 years or so and that I'm all well and good, will this help lots?

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!

Hey! I wouldn’t worry about the depression! To be honest, there are very few people who have gone through life without expressing some sort of depression.

Besides, the doctor doing the medical will ask you questions but will ask when the last time it had been used and maybe what triggers it. I think it may make a bigger difference to your application if you have been prescribed psychotic medication or have put others at risk with this illness. Also, they want to know for financial reasons and see if you may need state money to help you pay for it if things did turn.
