Well I'm not back online yet as problems with connecting to the internet in our new place, hoping to be connected in a couple of weeks. At my SIL at the moment so thought I'd pop in and say hello :)

Not much movement on the visa front at the moment as waiting for family to get back to us with the stat decs!! My BIL in Aus who wrote us one has gone to Canberra for two weeks and won't be back to get it witnessed for 2 weeks! Also I don't even think family over here have begun to write theirs :( Why do they think it's not very important to get them done quickly?

When we have them back we'll be having the medical done and will be sending off for the police checks this week or next week at the latest. I'm not stressing as much as I was about the visa now, the only thing I am stressing about is getting the stat decs off of family!

Anyway, hello to all the newbies to the circle and will catch up with you all soon!

Take Care

Kristy x

Make sure that the family know what you want written, because my SIL just wrote he is my brother they have been married for 5 years together 10 and have 3 kids including twins. She wrote it just like that. I was very disappointed as I thought we got on really really well. I am sure it would have been OK, but I decided to use a friend instead. Who wrote lovely things for us. Also get those police checks done asap. You don't want to be waiting for those. :)

Wow I havent had a chance in the last few days to catch up and there is a lot to catch up on.

Well we had a viewing on our house last weekend, they loved the house but not enough room in back garden to put double garage, oh well maybe next time lucky. Shiels how is the house selling going over your way, cannot remember is there anyone else selling their house and how is it going?

Please someone buy our house........we are getting desperate:(

I expect that will be me saying that in a couple of weeks!!! We have finally done all the 'finishing touches' & have the agents out today for valuations, so hopefully by Monday I will have a for sale board up  Never sold a house before, but everyone tells me it's a nightmare! Well best of luck Tracey, I'll let you know how I'm getting on next week!

Medical has been booked for the 23rd March! (I know I booked it way in advance but couldn't help it!:D )
X-Ray is being done at a walk in centre but can't pick up the x-ray's till the day after if they are ready! Bit of pain but the cheapest option.

Also, I have a couple of tattoos and have been told I would have to have Hep B & C and HIV tests done for extra £ but now apparently it's at the discretion of the doctor you see!! Not sure how they decide that then!

Ours is just going through. We accepted an offer in Nov.06-It was 10,000 pounds (no pound sign on keyboard) on condition that the sale went thro` quickly as we were off to Oz jan 07. However, the purchasers have delayed and delayed we as we were so busy in December with children/Christmas/packing/the documents and paperwork and a million other things basically were not on the ball enough get onto the agents to hurry things through. We left Uk 9th jan 07 having spent the last morning there racing from bank to solicitor to estate agent and eventually left my father with Power Of attorney. He has coped for 6 weeks with the above parties and had the purchaesers stalling at every fence, delaying and delaying about silly non-existent things.BTW the house is a v. large, well maintained, red brick Victorian house in a cathedral city, excellent condition as we had not planned on moving.............. they were truly inventing problems.........My father has enjoyed all the negotiations but the final word is that we`ve had to drop another 10,000k which is galling. Purchasers have used our circumstances to stall knowing that as we would eventually need some money we would have to capitulate. BTW,setting up in Oz does cost and you will need every penny.

So advice to everyone selling before they leave try to get it through before you leave ,be on the ball even tho` you are excited about the new life.

Poor you. Thats not much fun. Hope it didn't take too much shine of your new adventure. Thanks for the advise though. I think that we were crazy telling the agent that we were going to OZ and giving him a rough time for the move, because we have had 2 really stupid offers before this one like 50 grand below asking. Which is madness. I guess they thought we might be desperate. But it feels awfull. Now we have accepted a price still lower than asking, but already the people buying are up to no good, asking us to pay the stamp duty, so it is all delayed while we sort out a compromise. Can't help but feel we may be in the same boat as you sometime soon. So I am going to try and get the place ready to rent. Just incase.
I hope you buying a place runs a bit smoother for you

Hiya.....

We have'nt told our agents that we are off to Aus because of some of the horror stories that i'd read on here!!!! Told them we are moving into rented in another part of the UK!!!;)
But think we are going to come unstuck as the people buying off us know our neighbours and these particular neighbours know we are off to Aus!!!!
Just hoping now that they wont mess us about!!!! Only time will tell.......C x

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!

Hi

can anyone help - I am just finishing putting my application together for a defacto spouse visa and have a last few questions to ask.

1) The evidence I am including - should I tack tickets etc to paper or should I just put it all in a clear plastic wallet?

2) I have seen on here a couple of threads on contents pages but I can't them now when I do a search (typical) would be greatful if anyone could point me in the right direction!

Thanks in advance.
