Congratulations Keza.

Thanks guys. So I decided to wait and got an email today, we have a case officer and they want a northern ireland police check!! even tho Ive got one from London, seems we're only part of the UK sometimes!! AND I emailed DIAC about this before sending application and some fool emailed back saying I didnt need it!!
Less fed up now but still sick of bureaucracy!!! :frown:

Ahh well that's not so bad. We had to get an NI check, they are pretty efficient, think it only took 2 weeks. DAT1 is the form you need.

I was tempted to email them today, it has only been 6 business days since we submitted! Didn't think it would bother me this much. Not so worried about the approval just frustrating knowing flights are going up every day!

Mind you I called a mob in here in London the a couple of weeks ago and they said they could do me a one way with BA for £400 which is good value. Although looking at terminal 5 BA are the last peope you would want to be flying with!

the cheapest time to fly uk to oz is 15th april to end of May. Between these dates there are plenty of one ways in the £400's (and that was just from a quick look on expedia) - think cathay pacific was £433 via hong kong ( $442 if you want a stopover in hong kong) - that was london to adelaide

Good to hear that Timbo.
I know what u mean about flights. When are u guys hoping to go? With work and rental contract we're hoping for Sept, maybe Oct. Looks like we'll be paying 550 for one-way to Adelaide.

Well the missus (she's form Northern Ireland) graduates from uni at the end of May and then we are just going to go spend a few weeks with her olds back in iIreland before flying out around June 20 to be back for my brothers birthday on the 25th.

Just counting the days now, if I never met her I would have been home years ago haha!

I don't understand why flights are so expensive, one ways to Sydney from London in June (which is dead low-season in oz) are £550. If this mob i mentioned before are any good with cheap flights I will give you their number.

It only took a couple of weeks for my OH permanent visa to come through.

RE: Which queue to join.

I'm sure i read somewhere on this forum that If you have an Aussie passport your family can join you in that queue.

I will be taking a chance and will get the OH to come in the Aussie queue with me and the kids. Wouldn't want him to have a peacefultime in a Q all by himself:D

Last time i went to Oz with my boyfriend(he's Oz and i'm Brit) the imigration told me (after asking whyi was there, how long etc - the usual interrigation) that next time i can go in same line as my boyfriend - hope that helps

I'm british , boyfriend is Aussie, known him for a couple of years - but only been together since feb 07 and lived together since aug/sept 07 (although he practically lived here from the start but did not get on the bills etc till sept)- looking to move to Perth at end of August 2008

Anyone had any experience of lodging applications for de-facto spouse actually in OZ ? my boyfriend has a job that starts 1st sept, and we will not have the 12 months living together evidence until end of August, therefore can not apply for defacto while in uk - have seen on another forum that people in simular situation have gone to Oz on ETV and then applied once over there.

I appreciate it will take longer this way, that i don't mind, but does anyone actually have experience of it?

I will be packing up my whole life here, sending dog and selling house for this move!!

I really do not want to be parted from my boyfriend ( or the dog who is already booked to leave end of July)

Any advice anyone can offer on the above, or on evidence we can use to show 12 months prior to this - he paid for most of the food and slept at mine from the start, and we possibly have hotel bills and travel documents in his name at this address from as far back as april)

can anyone help me..... the stat forms 888 are being filled out by my in-laws who are Australian. They live with my husband and I in the UK so once they have filled them out do they need to get stamped by a solicitor? or can i just send the forms with copies of their birth certificates to prove they are Australian citizens? I am just a bit confused!!

For the Aussie who filled out ours we supplied it with a copy of his passport, but we also had one completed by a UK citizen and didn't take any copy of ID. Nothing was stamped by solicitor or anything and we didn't have any issues with it

Good luck

Will do! We are spending 3 weeks in Enniskillen (where the OH hails from) before coming back to London to take me home! Will hopefully get to see a bit of the country then. Been a few times already but never really had the time to see much. Really want to see the Giant's Causeway oh and Derry, pay my respects to aul bobby.

It will be 10 working days since we applied on Wednesday and we haven't heard anything yet, tempted just to drop them a line now!

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!

Hi guys

Fiancee and I sent our application in just after Easter Weekend... no word yet and it feels like my life has been taken over by this!!!!!

Nice to know I am not the only one in this boat. I have registered our details on www.austimeline.com and it seems that no one on there has heard anything from AHC in London for quite a while.... I wonder if they have a backlog of applications to deal with?

Anyone that can shed more light?
