Whats your experience with them??

Ive just picked up glasses on friday, one pair multifocals, came in way over (double+) the advertised price with upgraded lenses etc and the bloody things are awful. Supposed to be same prescription as the other ones I got in OZ but blury and they also have almost 'cokebottle' thickness lenses which is a bit of a suprise as they are top whack upgrade:sneaky:

Will take them back of wonder whats reasonable to expect them to do, replace? adjust? and are the cokebottles really top of range:sneaky: anyone else with specsavers? are you happy with the product?

I am wondering where they were made too, took almost 3 weeks to get them, partner reckons they are probably cheapos from some indian website, but maybe he has a point.

I went into specsavers on Saturday, you'll never guess who I bumped into!!

Had a very thorough eye test with Specsavers, picked a nice pair of designer glasses, not sure how much original price was but even with me paying to have the lenses thinned out to the max (as my lenses are always thicker as my left eye is buggered), the price came in at $104 after my Medibank rebate, the eye test was free with Medicare.

I've always used Specsavers and never had a problem yet. Just about to venture into the world of contact lenses, first time ever, lets hope they can give me a good service/good advice with those too. :fingerscrossed::)

If the lenses are not right they should replace at no loss to you.

I've always taken my daughter to specsavers, both in scotland and oz and never had a problem:huh:

Been back, they have adjusted the frame which seems to have put the prescription more in line with where it should be, still look like coke bottles though, told I should have upgraded the lens even more ( sounds like you did PP so you should be fine :thumbup: )

If I had upgraded them again it would have been $530 for one pair. Advert I went in on was one pair of multifocals from $199 range. Expected a bit of 'extras' but bloody hell.

Never mind I shall just pretend the geek look is in:lol:

For a child eye test, I have a lot of confidence in their check ups, much more than our local opticians.

I worked as an optometrist for Specsavers for years (although I stopped working 5 years ago), and my hubby co-owns a Specsavers store over here, and co-owned one in the UK before that. If you aren't happy with the glasses, take them back. The thickness of the lenses depends on many factors including the prescription, the material they are made from and the size of the frame. I know that oh would certainly take any complaints like this seriously, and would always try and find a solution, but the stores are individually owned.

And just to allay your fears, they aren't made in India!

BTW OPSM, Laubman and Pank, Budget Eyewear and Sunglass Hut are all owned and run by Luxottica.

In retrospect I could have chosen better ...
