But opens with the comment "KEVIN Rudd is rivalling Bob Hawke as Australia's most popular PM ever, but it hasn't stopped the Poms greeting him with a wave of ridicule."

Sorry can't help myself now
"Mr Rudd arrived in the British capital yesterday amid massive G20 protests.
At least 35,000 people braved stormy weather to march through the heart of London calling for world leaders to give people jobs, justice and a commitment to fighting climate change. "
Wow 35,000 people!!!! In a city of 12 million! Massive indeed.

I thought this article was utterly ridiculous too:
"Ignoring the success of his visit to the US and talks with President Barack Obama"
Hello! Everytime the guy gets on a plane the Aussie press are up em for galavanting abroad AGAIN and neglecting domestic matters, doesn't matter why he's doing it!
Then:
One newspaper described Mr Rudd's style as being "a charisma-free zone"
How very dare they! I'm sure no Aussie paper has ever had a go at someone's sense of style....oh did I hear someone say Therese Rein aka 'Mrs Rudd'!
Nasty poms....blah blah blah.....

hsa to be my favourite comment:
John of Bairnsdale: You're right! Apart from sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the British ever done for us?

Figure given in a lot of journals was indeed 35,000 taken from police estimates which traditionally is under quoated .Have heard the figure to be more like 50,000 which is still low giving the population as you say.

I love this Herald Sun quote:
But the spell was broken when, under the heading "distinguishing features", she said: "Cool exterior belies inner chaos. May wear RM Williams boots."
Givent there is a link in the article to anither Herlad Sun story criticsing Therese RUdd for wearing a "pirate shirt":
Many Herald Sun readers said her white blouse was a fashion shocker reminiscent of a pirate shirt worn by comedian Jerry Seinfeld in an episode of his hit TV series.
