At least the Liberals have a genuine contender on the front line now. What do you think about Turnbull? Will he make a good leader of the Liberals?

Depends on whether he has Tony Abbott as deputy as suggested by this article:

I could never ever entertain that idea! In fact even him as a minister is enough to put me off full stop!

Abbott has come across ok actually when I've seen him on Q&A (my favourite programme LOL!), but it's his rabid religious views I can't stand and his attempts to bring them into politics. Politics should remain secular
IMO.

but didnt turnbull stand last time and they voted for nelson?
i dont know, would like to see someone new and vibrant to be a good contender like Rudd, otherwise it'll be like the UK and we'll have to wait a decade for the labor party to self destruct!!

Turnbull Is very new, and personally think would do a decent job running this country.
KRudd is annoying the crap out of me the way he responds to a question by asking himself a question in the answer.

Agreed though, Piggy nelson was unelectable.

I loved the way Turnbull said in his speech this morning that he knows hardship because he *wait for it* once lived in rented accommodation! He sure knows how to bond with the common people.
I don't mind him though. He has a certain authority and confidence about him which I think will go in his favour (actually I think I fancy him a little bit ). I don't necessarily like his attitude towards business (Gunns, pro free market etc) but then that's why I don't vote Liberal!

Wish we could bring back Bob Hawke (did anyone see him on Denton? just brilliant) but then the political landscape is a whole lot different now so he'd probably find it equally hard to call a spade a spade as the rest of them.

Not much difference between Turbull and Krudd for me - I thought Nelson had the capacity to make a good go of it but the media definitely had it in for him. I'd like to see Dennis Jensen put his hand up.

Putting his hand up where / who?
I had hoped that kind of behaviour was limited to the WA opposition leader!
