So.....how much debt are you in?

My share of credit card debt is 0. Youse all can pay your own bills and stop trying to share it with me.

Not guilty on any of the credit card debt but must put my hand up to nearly half a million of the rest of it for NSW. Sorry. Must try harder
Isn't it funny (scary?) how we become accustomed to it - this time last year we bought our place and I was having heebie geebies at the thought of over half a million in debt. This month we put a lump sum into the mortgage and I'm smug because it's now ONLY $496k.
The previous 5 at the start was obviously my psychological limit.

Even the car is paid for. We had a terrifying few months after we bought our NSW house and before our QLD house sold when we had two home loans on the go and we owed scary, scary amounts. Our monthly payments were still lower than they had been when Himself was renting in Sydney and we were living in Qld, go figure, so that kept me sane.
The advantage of course is that not having any other debt, we can regularly make lump sum payments into the mortgage account and that makes everything feel better

Oh we do use credit cards but they don't use us - paid off every month. Hmmm, we lease a car, guess that is a form of HP really.
edit: When I think about it, we own jack all really
but we left the UK in 2002 carrying what we owned in suitcases, apart from the house which we sold a year later. At least now we own a few bricks.

We use our credit card, then pay it off, then use, then pay it off...... yadda yadda yadda.
Think we owe $5,000 on one, and $7,000 on the other, which isn't bad compared to some people I know.

I'm about bang on with the credit card but that's because we bought two flights to the UK last week. Normally have only the mortgage to pay.

Arrived in Oz with $60,000 of credit card debt, took me a year to pay it off, number of credit cards currently owned ... Zero
Home loans total $216,000, trying to pay the variable off quicker, $34,000 ahead with that one, woo-hoo

Pay the credit card off in full automatically by bank transfer every month. No other debts...no mortgage...no lease car etc.
