I didn't realise there was anything to read in this classy publication?

Shrapnel seems a fitting moniker for her.

Why all the coverage and media nonsense? I'm sure there's thousands of other drug smugglers worldwide who are quietly going about their business in foreign prisons.

How about instead of plastering every page of the the passport with kangaroos and wombats, why not just plaster it with " Idiots who involve themself with drugs overseas will no longer be entitled to Australian taxpayer fund legal aid, deals done by K Rudd, an interview with Tracey Grimshaw, a novel or movie with the words australian hero in it".

Personally I would not give people with certain criminal histories a passport - especially drugs, but also violence etc.

They smash up bars, smuggle and deal drugs and generally make a nuisance of themselves - then expect Australia to save them from a nasty shower experience in Midnight Express.

Jock Palfreeman is another idiot. He carried a knife on a night on the beer in Bulgaria, killed someone with a stab to the back, and now bleats about how tough it is in a Sofia jail cell. He had already stabbed someone in Sydney a few years before ...

A passport isn't a right. It's a privilege.

Some may say everyone deserves a second chance, some may say anyone involved in drugs doesnt (my sister being one of them has seen first hand the damage drugs do, doesnt believe anyone no matter what, deserves a second chance with drugs)

Child killers get a lesser sentence than Shrapnel.

Does she deserve a second chance? I would hope she has learned her lesson, but whether or not this is true I do not know but I hope so.

Difficult one.:o

Child killers get the death sentence in Indonesia. Colby got the standard sentence handed out to Indos. She though she would get a light one being a "Bule" (white skin). She didn't.

Idiots like her need to learn that Bali isn't an extension of the Gold Coast on schoolies week, it's a different country with very harsh laws.

In Australia, she probably would have served between 5 and 8 years then been Released on licence.... so on balance she's served that sentence in a prison that, quite frankly you wouldn't want to leave your dog.

So it seems fair enough to me that she should come home. Other than that I don't want the details!

She's probably guilty or at least someone in her family definitely is - bring her home, ignore her (she can't profit from her crime anyway) and let her get on with her life. She can't help the family she was born into but hopefully she's learnt her lesson.

The publicity her case, the Bali 9 and Van Nguyen received over the last 10 years has hopefully put the wind up young Australians thinking of doing stupid things with drugs while overseas. My kids and I sat in the car in silence thinking of the Nguyen kid when he was executed in Singapore, we watched his mother on tv not being able to touch him before they took him away, hopefully that will stick in their minds as much as it has in mine and they'll think twice about anything they carry in their bags. They already panic every time we go through customs somewhere because they watch too much Border Security on the tv and worry I haven't filled in our cards correctly and we're all going to get frisked.

As for Jock Palfreyman, I've never heard he was involved in another stabbing, but I've always thought it odd that he had a knife on him.

BTW the new passport and driving licence are really funny, the passport office rejected the partners application twice, shadow on photo...... We finally get it back and he has a kangaroo holograph on his face. On my driving licence, I have a southern cross tatt:eek: on the right side of my head. Its a wonder how anyone overseas takes these new documents seriously, let alone pick out the fine details of your features.

Lol.....
