I say if anyone is fugly, then they should think of those that have to look at em and keep covered up.

There are quite a few who I could think of that should wear full body clothing, Bert Newton for starters.

No - as if the plight of a muslim woman isn't difficult enough with the restrictions put on her by her own religion - imagine having to be housebound and not be able to even go out shopping or collect your children from school. Banning fully covered women is not going to stop muslim extremists.

My eleven year old daughter (eldest) reads the newspaper aloud to all of us in the car on the way to school each morning - this story came up a few months ago and all three of my kids were appalled and couldn't believe their home country that taught them to love everyone for what they are would be so narrow minded. They have mates with covered mothers (in public) they go to their homes and see them in their normal clothing and are no different to you or I.

As frustrating a place as the UAE can be to live, the fact that people are respectful in the way they dress I find to be a good thing. I've found having to make my kids be a little more conservative in the way they dress has taught them more about self respect and respect for others.

I reckon if your average Muslim husband found himself having to do the weekly shop for bog roll and fish fingers because his wife couldnt leave the house un-burqaed, the rules would be changed.....eventually.
