on what basis are you judging people to be intelligent?

Is that expert knowledge, opinion or casual observation?

Noooooooo what about the pub run?

I just saw the report on the news. She made a completely false allegation that could have resulted in the cop losing his job yet walks away scot free:frown:
Surely common sense should come into the deliberations of the judge.

It will make for a very interesting scenario if we all started wearing the Burqa. Can you imagine the furore when cops can't ask you to remove it. The burqa may well become the standard disguise for every bogan feral that wants to rip off a servo or a bottle shop:rolleyes:

I was quoting DV as in not banning women drivers so they can pick us blokes up from the pub.

why ban it? anyone wearing a burqa and being arrested could be finger printed:thumbup:

What if you're not charging them, but want to verify their identity (eg you've pulled them over driving and need to check they're licensed or something) you can't finger print them. You'd need to see what they look like.

While I have little time for Islam and it's values, beliefs and teaching and think that it is a threat to our western way of life, I think that a government telling people what they can, or cannot wear, goes beyond their remit. Government interferes too much into our lives as it is, this would be a step too far.

What if a female Muslim motorcycle rider walked into a bank with a crash helmet on?

She would quite rightly be asked to take it off.

But underneath she would be wearing a burqua which she can refuse to take off.

If she then robbed the bank and was arrested somewhere outside the bank she now has a legal precedent to say that it wasn't her under the burqua.

What a ridiculous situation that court created.

Why not just have a policy that burqa-wearing women must unveil for identification purposes to the law?

Stop making sensible posts. :frown: You know how much it pisses me off when I have to agree with you.

hang on, I thought you had a problem with the burqa, not the fact that she lied? Cops are forever being accused of mistreatment by non-burqa wearing people.

Ban the non-burqa wearers too then!

Do we ban Nigella Lawson wearing the burquini as well? Ban Tracy Grimshaw, ban Abbott, GLard, Channel 9, Offspring, ACA,TT, ash clouds and Broccoli.
