Shipping laptops and other stuff
We are due to pong back to Perth in January this time shipping our possessions with us. Two things I am concerned about. Along with my tools, I have a couple of automotive diagnostic laptops that cost a small fortune that are coming with us.
Along with the leads cases and connections they are too big to take as hand luggage. Would you reccomend packing them into a container even if packed watertight.
Secondly our aussie bbq is making the return trip, that's unless any one can advise against it. Will it be targetted at customs even if thoroughly cleaned.
Any advice would be great.

Provided you pack the laptops carefully they should be fine. Our PC came over in the container originally and it was as it should be when we opened it up.
I have no idea how strict UK customs are, I'm fairly sure they are not as particular as AQIS simply because they're not as separate from other countries as Aus is. Provided you clean it thoroughly, I'd have thought you'd be fine with that as well.
Have a good trip and hope you settle ok.

The only thing I will stress is get good comprehensive insurance - the odds are you will need it. Movers are barely able to walk upright and they will find the most expesive stuff you have and either steal it or stack everything on it.

I'm sure you can, don't know if Letton Percival do cover for air freight but they certainly do for marine freight.

Will explore these suggestions. So many things to organise and so little time.
