Sea Bass - is it here and is it the same?
I have a fave recipe from back home using sea bass which I'd love to resurrect over here, but I'm not sure if sea bass is available here (Sydney) or if it's the same fish...just been googling but keep finding conflicting info. Can anyone with a bit more culinary knowhow advise? Cheers

Oh thank god for your reply because I'd have probably wound up buying barramundi or something. Excellent then, I'll be off out soon to look for Hapuku. Thanks LF

Is it just me or does anyone else immediately think of the Farrelly Brothers when you hear the word "Sea Bass"?

They may recommend Blue Eye which is ok, but has a much fishier taste than Hapuka. Hapuku is what you want.
