School league tables in Brisbane
Im moving to Brisbane on 5th October. We have not figured out a place to live at the moment yet we do have a idea of areas that we like the look of.
One of my worries is the schools. I have a 7 and 12 year old. In the UK we have the league table of performance in the various countys.
Is there any such thing in Brisbane, for me to gauge which schools are performing well
Many thanks
all your help would be greatly appreciated

Don't have knowledge of Qld, but in SA league tables don't appear to exist.
Faced with same problem when we arrived, schools seem to be very cagey about revealing results.
Possibly because so many are private and don't want to deter parents if exam results aren't fantastic.
However, most state schools have catchment areas and as a consequence real estate agents can offer advice as to which are the more favoured areas.
Rentals within highly sought after catchment areas often command higher prices.
My advice would be to explore areas you initially like the look of, speak to the real estate guys, pick their brains, then arrange tours of potential schools.
And don't forget to ask the locals, most people tend to agree on which are the better performing schools and those generally to avoid.
Many schools also specialise in particular subjects, so that again is a consideration.
Good luck, you are definitely doing the right thing, choosing the right school for your children is so important. It determined where we settled and all 3 of mine have been happy since day one, which is one less headache when you have 1001 other things to worry about as a new migrant.
