Have to say that I am not really partial to the sausages out here.. and the beef sausages just are horrible... We've had a tip off over a brilliant butcher from some expats we met up with via here.. going to give them a call next week and find out the name and possible address and then TomTom it.. apparently this butcher can actually produce really good ham too.. ham here, in my honest opinion, tastes as good as the beef sausages Em x If you are looking for English style ham (gammon ) then you shouuld buy the 'pickled pork' that is what they call it here - try it! |

If anyone was to get fed up answering the same old questions, they can always disappear for a couple of years (like I did) |

For anyone on the sunshine coast. You can buy lincolnshire, cumberland and pork sausages from the Fudge Kitchen, Bulcock St, Caloundra.
They get them in weekly from a butcher I think in Robina. My men rate them highly, certainly better than anything else you can buy locally. My husbands biased as he comes from Lincolnshire. We phone up and order, so that we don't make a wasted journey. Also, have mentioned this before, you can get gammon steaks from a shop on the Niklin Highway. It used to be the Sarah Lee shop, just near the Good Guys and Kawana Bubs. Again delivered weekly, and you can order. Good for a sat. night meal, gammon+egg or pineapple, chips and peas!!!!! Hope this helps. Where abouts on Bulcock st is it ? Kate |

Re: Sausages
The Fudge Kitchen Bulcock St Caloundra is quite near to the Rivers outlet shop, opposite side of the road to the cinema. I'll pm you if I can find their tel. no.
Also ref. the pickled pork theme!!! It's really very nice, I soak it to get the salt out, then a quick boil, and then roast it with honey and mustard. Enjoy. |
Re: Sausages
For those who have a desire for a bigger sausage, boerwors are to be found in Melbourne at the South African shop at Caulfield.

Re: Sausages
Hi, Yes I think we must all like to fry up.
I bought some pickled pork today, ( I think we have had it before a long time ago ). Thanks also for the cooking tip, will try that tomorrow. The shop Britain on the Bayside, is it just an online shop or can you visit a shop. I have looked on their web site but couldn't find an address. Good excuse for a day out, we are retired so plenty of time. |

Trading Hours: Monday to Thursday 9.30am — 5.00pm Friday and Saturday 9.30am — 7.30pm Strange that they don't make their address clearer on the web site. There is a map at http://www.britzinoz.com/spiceavenue.htm with the location of that shopping centre, which also has a Balti Restaurant. |
