On 3AW here in Melbourne Yesterday, Derryn Hinch reported that a UK woman that hadn't lived in Australia since the 1960's got the package.

I dont know how that could be, especially with the tax return etc, but I think it was something to do with the pension, and reciprocal arrangements.

Yes, we are going to pay some of it but our children are going to pay the rest.

Hopefully it will be your ultimate employers the Chinese that end up paying the brunt of this.

If you earned less than circa 100,000 tax last year on your return, you'll get 900 bucks in April.

Looked this up and I'm not eligible. One wonders why they give money that must be spent to people who probably can't afford to spend it.

I would have spent it. No worries mate.

Hopefully someone has the exact cut off point.

I spoke to the ATO last night and they said Mr PP and I will get a cheque each for the maximum amount.

I heard on the news that it is hoped that anyone in receipt of the benefits will spend it on Aussie made stuff to boost the economy.

I'm pretty sure its $100,000. But you don't get the full amount above $80,000.

Don't worry my family will spend it as our income is under $50,000 and with three children we don't usually have much spare cash.Sue.
