You will have some that think staying Covid free is a better way of handling a pandemic, however the problem with Covid free is there is no normality. It just becomes a Covid free existence. Covid free means 2 choices at some point. 1. Remain isolated with closed borders forever 2. When do you let the virus in? What are those criteria for letting the virus in? Or multiple criteria. Mark McGowen makes a valid point. He says "we are virus free, why would we deliberately infect our citizens with Covid". I don't know Mark. Do your citizens want to get out and come back in? If not stay shut then. Clearly Queensland doesn't have the luxury of its citizens wanting to hermit away for ever. Just look at those Queenslanders stranded outside. |

Many restrictions have been lifted in SE QLD, the mask mandate has been relaxed except for when you can't socially isolate and on public transport etc. Dancing is back! It is feeling very normal here, but then its felt like that for some time. I like Bournemouth, lovely very popular beach - its great to be able to get out and do those things again my family back in the UK are starting to do that same sort of things again. Its getting far to hot for me to go to the beach (Bribie Island is my favourite at the moment) but I am happy to chill near the pool and avoid the traffic jams on the Bruce. Word is that no one is going to the Gold Coast because of its proximity to the NSW border so I guess they're all headed north. . I'm going to wait for the rush to die down and then book for Tasmania or Singapore. Maybe both  |

Its far too (not to) hot, there's traffic jams to get to a beach which is a long way away, no one goes to the Gold Coast because its a shit hole, so I will just stay at home - bring on the inevitable lockdown because we just nudged 50%. |

Nice to see everyone's still having fun with the "my State is wonderful, your State is shit" thing. Carry on :D

There is a clear distinction of managing a pandemic and getting out of a pandemic. The UK have done the latter well. Australia in general are doing the latter poorly.
And yes - Australia is also doing it badly at the moment. If we could have rolled out vaccines earlier, it would have been better. Wishing for outbreaks though is poor form on any level :( |

Wishing for outbreaks though is poor form on any level :( What winter brings remains to be seen. Australia rolled out the vaccines early as they could. They took the vaccine they could make locally and rolled it out. Too bad if there are too many idiots who read somewhere 5 people died from blood clots. I know a number of people in Brisbane wishing for an outbreak as they see it as the only way out. Hardly poor form. It's called freedom |

Australia has done relatively well and now the vaccination program is on track I've been the biggest critic of Australia's kung flu overreaction but the data (real data not opinion) shows that we've done far better economically than most of our peers internationally As usual, conservative/right-wing politicians get it right while their Australia/western hating colleagues constantly get it wrong The left breaks/destroys/divides while the right builds and prospers - as sure as day follows night. History. Always. Forever |

What next, abortion bans, concentration camps for refugees, stormings of parliament....? You do realise a premier alone cannot decide on abortion bans and concentration camps for refugees but there we go, we can let you live in a fantasy land. I have no problem with it being called Kung Flu or China Virus. It was released from the Wuhan Virus Institute and has killed many millions. Should we be giving China thanks? Probably in your eyes Meanwhile back to you bigotry towards religion. Tell us all about that? |
