The 'ol girl was a bit of a UK institution.
As a kid I remember the highlight of a trip to town was a visit to Woollies.
Was also my first job as holiday labour in school holidays.

Why not donate them to the children's hospital at Westmead or something similar. They might be able to use them for raffle prizes.
edit: And she never got it that we had a Harrods stall and a F&M stall in one of the dept stores in Sg.

I have no axe to grind at all.
I thought I was being all helpful, like... saying 'oh look, you've had f-ing hundreds of views but no-one's replying cos they've out commented themselves in the previous two weeks' .... perhaps if I'd put a smiley, the OP would have been all nice to me?
But she wasn't.
She gave me a nice little caustic reply to put me in my place.
But honey, I don't know my place. I don't actually have one.
I tried to be helpful and since then have just taken pleasure in taking the piss of someone who can find a Woolworths demise thread so sodding important given the crisis in the Congo, or torture in (pick your country).
I don't care about sodding Woolworths.
Funny you didn't pick up on the OP's reply to me when I tried to explain the lack of replies. Hmmmm? Maybe you're male and don't pick up on when a female's being bitchy?
I care about people.... and children.... And quite a few cane toads.... and other defenceless creatures who don't have the ability to speak up for themselves.
You might be pissed off... but I doubt it, because I suspect you don't have an inflated sense of your own importance ... or an ego that needs massaging.
Tally ho my dear.
Like I said to the OP, have a merry Christmas.
Yrs, drunkly but very very happy.

Aw c'mon. I've left it to TP up to now as she's big enough to fight her own battles but I do think she's getting an overly hard time here.
IIRC she initially said "not that I'm not interested". Anybody that knows her writing style can see that in her first post she was trying to explain the lack of answers to the OP - we had at least 3 threads about the subject when it first came out. She could have ignored it like I did but it sounds to me like she felt obliged to comment and not leave the thread unanswered ('cos let's face it we all feel a bit of a pillock when that happens
).
I think the OP misunderstood her so sniped, put her back up, she sniped back, and things have gotten a just tad out of hand. Can we not just admit there was a misunderstanding and get on with the important things in life?
edit: OK you edited that a couple of times and then deleted it. LOL My post still stands.

I think perhaps the OP interpreted TP's original "slow response savanna" as "savanna you're a bit slow" rather than TP's intended meaning of "the response to your thread is a bit slow".
And you're right SS, TPs a big lass who doesn't need me to fight her corner, but I thought I would anyway.

Can you? Is your house on fire? Have you started a thread on it yet? I think you should.
Nothing new there then Cresta.
You'd think that petensue, but actually, if you love bananas, like I do, then actually it's really very nice.
Oooh, have you got a handbag, Dun? Meet you on the strip at 6.
It's very true framac.
Seasider, you're so succinct. I love you too.
Did she? How odd. If I'd meant that, trust me, I would have written it.
Hey, who are you calling a 'big lass'?
I'm offended.
Seriously, I don't know what you're all kerfuffling about. I've been out all day having fun.

I'm with you on that one SS.

I have to say I will be sorry to no longer see a Woolies shop on the high street. I was only in there on my last trip to the UK last month. Woolies has been part of my childhood and adult life, its a sort of cultural thing
I will miss it, no matter what anyone says. But onward and upward, so peace and harmony to you all and Merry Christmas. (As Sue slinks off to open the tin of Roses she bought in Woolies
)

Do you know any charities in Syd that could sell them at a fete or similar?
