Steve Jobs 1955-2011

Our very first computer was an Apple IIC. Feels like a lifetime ago...

Not really a surprise, given what he had and where his health was.

My husband will probably have a beer with all his macs tonight for poor Steve. Sad day for Apple and the Jobs family.

I feel a bit bad, First Born came out and said 'Steve Jobs has died again', we had a chuckle about the number of times it's been reported and then after checking the news found that he had. Very sad he had such an evil disease but a relief he's no longer suffering. Sympathies to the family.

That's a bit of an overreaction to the disappointment of the iPhone 4s.

Aye.
I remember people claiming he was just a figure head but when he left Apple everyone soon realised he was much more than that. The company floundered badly but when he came back he turned it all around in a short time scale.
One of the best I've seen in my lifetime.
RIP.

Very sad, Thoughts to his family. Been a long time Apple user and he was a true visionary.
Makes you wonder that perhaps this is why Apple only announced the iPhone 4S instead of the anticipated iPhone 5 as a mark of respect knowing he was dying or close to death. I didn't watch the keynote yesterday but a few people have said how sad everyone seemed.

He was a visionary, it's just a pity he was so controlling and treated his customers with such contempt.
