Freddie Starr was funny? When did that happen?

RIP Norman. Brilliant man.

Oh that's really sad. Another part of (a lot of) our childhood gone :(

Lee Evans will have to find somebody else to copy now.

Saturday mornings just weren't the same if there wasn't a Norman Wisdom film on.

No doubt there will be a whole Norman Wisdom season on real soon now.

. . . and as an aside, when did Lee Evans start swearing to the extent he does now? . . . wasn't very impressed by his latest offering to be honest.

Comedians who swear excessively are simply not funny. That was one of Norman's many virtues. He was good clean fun for all

I never found Norman Wisdom very funny, and Lee Evans is even less so. At least Norman had gentle comedy. Why do people have to swear all the time??

Me neither.

Re: RIP Norman Wisdom

It was an innocent type of comedy then wasn't it? Times have changed, we've changed and, at the very least, most of us have grown up :)

He'd go down very well in some parts of Asia where the humour is very "obvious", slapstick kind of thing. You can stand in a Post Office queue in Singapore and watch people almost wet themselves laughing at Mr Bean.

I've no idea if Lee Evans has started swearing, I avoid him like the plague. He certainly sweats a lot.
