I couldn't stand hiim either and didn't find him at all funny. It is still very sad for his loved ones though.

Apparently there has been some confusion about the size of his penis.

On the one hand it was quite big but on the other hand quite small

Jeremy Beadle raised over £100million for charity.

I was not a massive fan of his humour. Despite his disability he achieved a lot in his working life and used his celebrity status to benefit the community to an amazing extent I can only feel a huge sense of sadness. He clearly deserved his MBE and all the gratitude of the public for what he did in his life, much of it unseen to most of us. It is sad that it is only at his passing that we discover his greatest strengths.

Apparently Beadle had requested that his ashes be used as compost.
ITV have confirmed that he will be back in the Autumn as "Beadle's a sprout"

Nonsense. Everyone who's posted has compassion in shed loads. Beadle, much as I disliked his public persona, would be the first in line for telling the jokes about himself. I wish people (not just you) wouldn't assume that because some people joke about someone recently deceased (many different people over the years) doesn't mean they are hard, uncaring or lacking in compassion. It is obviously not the case.

You have to respect him if he raised that much money for charity. Botham got a knighthood for similar. Where is his?

But I still can't help feeling that his pranks paved the way for the wall to wall reality tv we get these days. Can't forgive him for that.

Possibly because otherwise the said dead person is in danger of becoming some sort of heroic, saintly figure which is possibly undeserved. Most people don't say stuff bad when there's been a death, that hasn't been said many times during their lives. Human nature. That's my take on it anyway.

At my dad's funeral, which was packed to the rafters with friends wishing him on his way, someone stood up to say some stuff, and after the nice bits, said "of course, he could be a complete b*st*rd too". Everyone laughed. It was true, didn't mean anyone thought any the less of him though.
