Default RIP Donna Summer

She died last night agreed 63 of cancer.

Lots of good memories dancing to her songs in the 70s.

Thanks for the fun Donna.

Anyone got Similar memories of her?

A 26 YO bloke at work claimed he never heard of her.... I promptly lent him my Ipod with the long version of the 75/76 "love to love you baby" he was genuinely shocked and amazed. He had heard the music before but was very surprised at the version I had. Which was the usual one heard in the old 70's disco scene.

I'm surprised how deeply her passing has struck me. Had some of the best times and memorable times of my life whilst her music has been playing. Most particuarly in a Belgian club in Blankenberg which happened ot be the first club I ever saw with beanbags in a corner, complete with franco girls.

The queen and earliest pioneer of techno.

Thanks for the good.... no make it greatest times Donna xx oo xx.

Not often I tear up over a celebrities passing. Last one to get me like this was Peter Cook.

Yes Donna Summer's music was pretty cool. I'm not particularly sad though.

I was ABSOLUTELY GUTTED when MCA died last week, still am.

I was also quite upset when John Peel died too.

Hated Donna Summer when I first heard it...thought she was crude with all that moaning. However as time went by I grew to quite like it- NOT the moaning, but the rest of it.

Sparing a moment to think of all those who have died of cancer before their time.

Don't forget Michael Jackson.

Vivid memories of local youth club disco on a Friday night and Donna Summer on the turntable. Way too early to go but if it means she's no longer suffering then so be it. Very sad though.
