Default renting with dogs

Has anybody with dogs managed to rent a house with a pool in the Brisbane area?

It's just that we have 2 dogs and I'm planning to rent at least for a while. I want a house with a pool so that when I come to buy (hopefully) I will know whether there's any point in getting one with a pool, or if its just going to sit there unused.

Hi I would def go for a pool it is a life saver! We have rented 2 houses with our dogs- no problems. They seemed more concerned about the cat - he is so lazy though he cant be bothered to damage any thing!

Hi there, we're hoping to be in Brisbane by the end of the year and we will be wanting to rent a hosue with a pool around Brisbane too with two dogs, do you just look at rental properties on the internet then email the estate agent asking if pets are allowed or is there some other way of doing this?

I have two Brissy homes and rent one with pets and one without. Reason is the house with pets is a larger suburban home, fully fenced and suitable. I also know the tenants look after the place and keep the dogs outside.

You will find it difficult to rent with inside pets- period. Unless you get a dump where the landlord doesn't really care (which means maintenance issues probably will also be ignored) you're probably better off finding a suitable rental then negotiating with the landlord to pay a "pet bond" or similar. This usually comes in the form of extra conditions on your lease that you will fumigate the place upon vacation, remove or repair any yard damage caused by pets (tracks, lost plants, tracts of grass etc) and pay an extra bond on top of the four weeks rent for peace of mind for the landlord.

Good luck with your search
