hi

My American granddaughter was facing the same situation and contacted the Universities directly. It might be a good idea if you did the same.
She found that she would have to begin over, but it may not be the same for you.

I've known a couple of students who have entered into the second year of a degree here and managed fine. Depends on where you are going and what you are studying, grades etc. Check out google for australian websites and run a quick search on what area you are interested in.

Cheers

Yep, we arrived in August 2007... Eldest daughter (now nearly 18) dropped out of education and works at McD's.... shocking hey? But she has made friends very easily... Likewise three youngest who are all in full time education have all made friends really easily... If you are in education (providing you don't live too far away from uni) you should be good.... As for transfering courses... I have no idea..

You may get some credit for your past year's study. Bring all the course & subject outline information you can to streamline the assessment process.

My kids are school age too but have had no problem settling in!!!! We are Welsh and everyone loves their accent - you will prob find it is the same for you...

No info on Uni but it might be worth contacting some of the uni's to get information upfront... Facebook, Bebo and MySpace might also be good to use to network and find people who are in the Aus uni's who can give you some advice.

Wishing you the very best of luck
