That looks better than mine - have a cheap argos one but still plan on bringing it :)

Only recent purchases are UK ones - got a 6Kg, 1400rpm Indesit washing machine for £199 if it counts

Offroad R/C cars from Hobbyking (Hong Kong) for christmas presents - about $100 delivered including radio and battery. Nice quality, brushless motor, good electronics, LiPo battery, 4WD, all parts cheaply replaceable. You would pay about $300 for sonmething similar locally.

I've had a busy few weeks

House
64" TV
710L fridge
3 peice leather sofa
Pugalier puppy
iPhone 5
8 zone security alarm
2 WiFi security cameras
and 2nd hand lawnmower/blower/trimmer from a gardener mate.

I'd recomend the cameras. Made by Foscam and you can move them about via an app on your mobile. Just set it up so it emails me on motion detection etc. Quite impressive for the price.

Ironing board cover, last summer, 5 bucks. (Pattern starting to fade - caveat emptor).

Bag of Aborio Rice, Costco - less than a few bucks I should think.

Cyclone spade from Bunnings - $55, Australian made. Chinese made one was $40.

Also, this guy. Amazon Kindle touch 3g.

Not very impressed with the 3g coverage and it's nowhere near as nice to hold/turn pages as the Kindle Keyboard. But still an awesome ereader. I settled for this as the Paperwhite is too far off yet.

I got a good Cyclone a few years back. It's all rusty and knackered where the metal spade has hit dirt but it will last a while.

Recently setup a garden 2 seater Swing Chair - just right for sitting outside, feet up, with a beer and a book and not getting toasted.

Currently looking what I am going to have to buy for other people for Christmas....

You know, I'll second that Coles cheesecake... and their home brand Belgian chocolate is pretty good too. And their choc chip biscuits. :o Not that I'm touching that "stuff" at the moment.

In lieu of chocolate, I bought a Christmas tree decoration today.

One of those glass breakable types. Gold, pine cone like. Could have spray painted a real one I suppose but the spray paint would cost more than the breakable one.

I've got the keyboard  If it ever needs replacing, I'll get the Paperwhite. Trouble is, I keep touching the screen and wondering why I can't turn the pages.

H.P. Printer for $47.00 (saves me switching on the $13,000 ones for just the odd sheet of paper) - very good quality print.

Most of the things that I get in Aldi. Been looking for decent washing up liquid. Aldi cheapo crappo at 99c is just fine.

If the page turn gesture on the touch was the same as the iPad, it would be fine. But the keyboard is still thinner and nicer to hold. The Paperwhite is just as big as the touch.

Canon SX260HS camera a few weeks back.

Did alot of research and ended up with a shortlist or 2, Ted's cameras were doing this for $279 so I made the purchase.

takes great pictures, but I'm even more impressed with the wuality of the video it takes, much better than my little handheld video camera.

5 copies of Irish Shades of Grey (preordered from Amazon) for Christmas presents. It's a collection of tweets gathered into a small book, 75% proceeds to charity and it's freakin hilarious (especially if you're Irish!). Winner.

Electric guitar shaped rattler for baby nephew for Christmas.

Awesome BonJovi/music inspired makeup palette from TheBalm for ME :p

Do they work?

I Robot is a very good album by Alan Parsons. I bought that about 30 years ago and it was probably expensive so really shouldn't be mentioned here.

They are very good. The cars are about $73, the radio is $15, batteries are $5 each but you really need at least 2. As the batteries are LiPo, you need a specialised charger which will be about $100 for something remotely decent.

So about $100 plus charger for a whole heap of fun.

A steam mop. Not one to gush about household gadgets but I love it and it will save me time and ensure I clean my floors more often.
