so that's why i came here and i haven't forgotten the very scary threat of nuclear war that was a threat to me when i grew up in the uk
all the other stuff (what you miss) is rubbish and trivial. having an inter continental nuclear ballistic missile pointed at you is crap. i don't have that any more.

I'm very intrigued by this reply, could you give me a few more details. Are you talking about Cold War.What nationality jets and ships.Where is it you live now that you feel safe.I was involved in some operations with the Russians during Cold War period but you seem more affected than I ever was.Im not trying to be picky,I'm genuinely interested.

they used to have "war" every thursday off the coast of dorset and any nato forces in the area would practice wars. including airforce
Portland was a strategic target that had a nuke pointed at it during the cold war years as well as bomb attacks on mainland uk by the ira my aunty was in the Birmingham bombings and my cousin in Bali so i feel safe living in suburban adelaide

Re: the reasons why i'm here

I once pushed over a Guardsman and caused a domino effect at Windsor castle because his platoon tried to walk through us. We were listening to our walkmans and didn't hear them coming. I was 15 and this was the 80s.

He was angry when I called him and his OC a woodentop and when they got miffed, I said I could beat most of his platoon's BFT times. (Which was true).

The policeman was so busy laughing he told me to go home and also bollocked the woodentops for being so aggressive with tourists.

The French are planning to invade Australia using New Caledonia as a bridgehead. Assuming the Indonesians don't get there first.
