the reasons why i'm here

moving across the world for me was about getting away from Russia
when i left the uk we were at war with Russia they were the enemy. Now they are taking over Europe. i don't have fighter jets flying over my garden or war ships in my sea view.
so that's why i came here and i haven't forgotten the very scary threat of nuclear war that was a threat to me when i grew up in the uk
all the other stuff (what you miss) is rubbish and trivial. having an inter continental nuclear ballistic missile pointed at you is crap. i don't have that any more.

Never had an ICMB pointed at me. Had a loaded pistol once - that was a bit frightening.

I guess it was fairly valid in the 80's but I don't think it's been a real threat for a while now

Well me and my mate was in a taxi coming home and he drove along side of us (dual carrigeway..his mate was driving) and he started pointing this freaking gun me and my mate started screaming ...taxi driver pulled over told us to GET OUT!! So we reluctantly did and boyfried car pulled over he got out and started aiming it..I was shitting myself, then his mate said it was a blank and told b/f to stop being stupid and getting him to calm down.
Of course he was dumped after this ( only together about 3 weeks) and it was all because I was chatting to a male old school friend! What a physco!

Nothing.
We were mistaken for terrorists.
2 kids of 15 and 17.
We were taken back to the police station in convoy, van in front, van behind, us in 2 seperate cars with 3 policemen in each, helicopter overhead.
As my friend was a minor, his mum was asked to collect him. I was put in the cells and "allowed to go" after 3 hours. How very nice of them.
