Mum has gone on holiday and we said our final goodbyes as we're hoping that the house will exchange and complete next week so we'll be off on the first available flight after completion!

My god it was really really hard, i put on a brave face as she has to drive upto Preston and i didnt want her to have to deal with my emotions as well as her own

She drove up the road (my mum lives next door to us) and then stopped, she txt Alan to tell him she forgot to say she loved him too

SHe only gone for week, but as we've been waiting to go for last 3 weeks, we need to go asap after house completion,

She wanted to say goodbye now as it will be to hard for her if she was 'left behind'

at least this way she has her holiday to keep her attention

I really feel for you, it's harder than you think to say goodbye to your family isn't it.

You will be OK, I promise you will. I agree with Pheonix, put a grand to one side for her and get her out here for a visit as soon as she can make it when you are settled.

Take care and don't be too hard on yourself, you'll find you talk to her more when you're here than you did over there.

I am absolutley dreading when the day comes for us to say our goodbayes. Sometimes i feel it would be easier not to tell anyone our moving date and just go ....

we had our leaving party last night and said a lot of good byes to alot of our friends and family
every thing went well until one of our daughters friends started crying that she would miss our Terri and then they all start crying
( Terri had about sixty of her mates from school there ) we could of done with a couple of mops

Its the kids that always get me.

I went to the park with my kids and their friends and one of the friends Lucy sat beside me ......And said i don't want Lydia to go and live n Australia i shall miss her smiling face so much, it broke my heart.

Glad your party went ok.....and only a few buckets of tears were shed
