For anyone who's interested just came across this free Microsoft add on for those who have RAW on their camera.
http://www.microsoft.com/prophoto/do...s/default.aspx
I have Adobe but it's a nice little side addition.
PS/ if you haven't already got it you need to download .NET Framework 3.5
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
first so that the Microsoft Professional Photographer download will run.

Sounds very interesting; could be useful but I have a problem with Microsoft. Many years ago the majority of people used Eudora to read their mail then along came free Microsoft Outlook, when Eudora has been just about killed Microsoft said "Outlook will not be free now, it will be part of Office so to use it you will have to buy Office". Sure there is a stand-alone version of Outlook that you can buy, hardly anyone stocks it and if you can get it it is almost the same price as Office. This process caused a lot of people to end up with Microsoft Office on their PCs and soon killed off the opposition like Ami-Pro, Word Perfect and many others. Didn't take long to get to the point where Microsoft had a near monopoly including web-browsers. It is now difficult to buy a PDA that doesn't have a Microsoft Operating system on it, I have to use Microsoft Office to synchronise with my PDA, I don't want the same thing to happen to cameras. I'm looking forward to the day when Open Office has a mail client that can be used instead of Outlook and will synchronise all features, mail, appointments, contacts, calendar with a PDA.

I'm going to see what Microsoft Photography has to offer but haven't give it a proper go yet as I have Canon Raw and Adobe Photoshop. I have a few photos to upload that I'll try with that.

Crikey.
I have iPhoto, Nikon's own Photo software, Photoshop, Portrait Pro ... enough already!

I can't afford any more anyway. I don't know how all these people cross process things in PS and then in another application. Takes hours!

Plus I've a few dust spots I need removing so until I get them taken off the mirror I just wipe them out.

Good to see we have some photographers on board.
Now I know where to come when I get stuck and need advice
(Nikon D40, iPhoto, iPhoto Library Manager, Aperture, Photoshop Elements, Pixelmator, PhotoZoom Pro 2, Flickr Uploader.....and am pretty hopeless with all of them
)
