Default Rasa Sentosa Singapore

Have emailed the rasa resort sentosa island to see if they accomodate 2 children 1 which will be in a cot, they said they can for anyone in same situation $300 for 2 adults and 2 children inc breakfast. They also do a dinner bed & breakfast rate for $455 per night, wondered if this is worth it and if there are plenty of options for eating out on the island?

Hi there

Hotels in Singapore have gone up in the last couple of years, so $300 (if that includes tax) is not bad but if not you'll have to add about 17% to that rate for tax.

There isn't many places to eat on Sentosa at night, I don't think as never been there in the evening so you might be tied to the hotel or going off the island.

As a rule a buffet brekki in a good Singapore hotel is about $25 +++ (tax!) per head, dinner would depend on what choice they have in the hotel but we eat in our hotel in Singapore, main and pudding and it came to $100. Anyway, so if the extra $150 covers all 4 of you then it will probably work out quite well.

Compare prices on a site like Wofit, Asian Rooms etc. I've found recently booking directly with the hotel has given me a much better deal.

Hope this helps a bit.

There are various restaurants on Sentosa ranging from Delifrance to Il Lido, one of the current places to see and be seen (or was that last month? ) and with a pizza place, Sakae Sushi, a local food court, etc., in between. KM8 and Cafe Del Mar do bar food and of course all the hotels have restaurants too. I think I posted this link for you on another thread but have a look here, might have some info:

www.sentosa.com.sg

Another option is to go just off the island (you can do it on the Sentosa Express, the cable car, by bus or by taxi) to a mall called Vivo City where you will find all the fast food joints and a variety of western and asian restaurants.

Had a meal at this hotel a few weeks ago and the evening meal was great - Al la cart, came to about S$100 for two starters and main each.

They also do buffet style food in the evenings sometimes and it looked good.

It was also easy to get into the city via the MRT at Vivo city - straight to Clarke Key and all the lovely restaurants there and plenty of them kid friendly.

Enjoy

Yep, the MRT is at Harbourfront which adjoins Vivo City. Clarke Quay is only a couple of stops away, and you can also walk to Boat Quay from there.

Check out review of the Rasa on www.TripAdvisor.com from March 2007.

We really liked it actually. Quite expensive, but the facilities are good and it is the only (artificial) beach hotel in the country. The kids club, for those with kids old enough, is awesome and our boys couldn't get enough.

I also highly recommend the Night Safari and the Street Luge on Sentosa, a ways up the beach and then up the hill via the ski lift.
