They did it with that d*ckhead Ayltian last year and he won. I'd prefer if they gave limited coverage to their personal lives and let them win the public over with their talent and personality (which a lot of them with sad stories would do anyway because they're often the most down to earth and likeable).
You want to watch some of the UK's X Factor from Saturday. My brother sent me 3 clips and they all made me cry!!! And sad stories to go with them. It definitely has an effect. I wonder if anyone's actually done research?!

Some of the kids this year seem really talented... two of the groups are amazing.
Yep, the Iranian kid is good, such a shame he muffed his lyrics - such a likeable and articulate young man too.

They put through most of my favourites tonight, haven't watched the last group yet as I had to go pick up my husband from a function so will have a look shortly and check which oldies made it through.

My own health- MS and now got the start of another infection thanks to the kiddies at work who insist on sharing their germs. Also bruised from where I fell.

Money worries- have had to put off eye op as I can't afford to have that and fly back to the UK if needed for either parent.

..and NO UK chocolate to help either.

So sorry to hear all that Caroline. You're all having a horrible time of it. Money worries really are the icing on the cake when you're going through all of that, aren't they.

Oh, does it upset you trying to get people to be aware of suicide and how others are feeling?

You poor thing. How terribly demanding on your ok life it must be.

So, have we stopped caring now?

Is there a calendar for these things so I can plan in advance?

No, I find I still care, even after a whole day.

Perhaps there's something wrong with me.

You'll wear yourself out.

I find spending some quality time really not giving a shit for anyone but myself very invigorating.

It recharges the batteries for the majority of the time where I can pass for a compassionate member of society.

No, it's an admirable quality. Perhaps if more people cared, then we wouldn't have to have special caring days to draw attention to the fact that nobody cares

As a mother of three, running a business and working, I regularly spend time not giving a shit for anyone but myself. It's timetabled in each day. I may do something completely frivolous such as give myself a manicure or buy a coffee.

Oh that's quite true! And then Sonly wouldn't have to get so irate.

Perhaps the special day will make us all care more, then days like this will become redundant. Except I care the same amount as I did before. So perhaps it hasn't worked....
