I need a holiday. One that is kid-free, isolated and where they bring you little drinks with umbrellas in them. Er and without mobile access.

That said, I'd probably last 10 minutes before I was phoning home to check on the house and to nag hubby.

Far from OK, but as nobody will ask me, I don't have to confess my feelings. So I'll stay depressed as per usual.

I don't know, are you going to start it? I think it's good. How many people take their own lives each year? Will this stop someone doing it today? Maybe.

Aw alright then, I'm just being Mr Grumpy Boots ... Let's all care for each other.

I'll give it 2 hours before someone complains that Australian's saying "R U OK" are not as sincere as people in the UK.

Sonlywalter has done that on another thread.

FFS!

Why not care for each other? What have we got to lose?

This is really weird but this morning I was grand, really 'chipper'. Went out, did a few bits and pieces including putting in an application for a job and suddenly this enormous black cloud has descended and I have that really heavy feeling in my stomach that something bloody awful is about to hit bigtime. :(

Not going to top myself, just thought I'd tell you. Why does happen, out of nowhere? **** it!

Not sure? That sort of drop can be physical though we think it's mental, but it's chemical. Given everything you've been through health wise in the past couple of years, you might want to consider doing a bit of googling on 'adrenal support'. Constant stress, operations, lack of good health, can all contribute to adrenal issues. Supporting those is imperative. You can self treat with vitamins, minerals etc.

Yeah right, watched Mel B say it to every contestant on the X Factor last night and she seemed very sincere. Are you okay is something Australians would only use as a question to someone they think may have a problem whereas some Brits tend to use it as a greeting.

She's just trrying to get them to 'tear up', it's all about selling advertising.

The whole show is designed to promote emotional garbage (they all have some sad story), rigged, painful, but the kids love it and some of the contestants are actually pretty talented.

I don't think they all have a sad story. There's a mum who's had cancer on there, but what else? The kid who broke his neck by playing footie, I don't think he's playing on that?

The young disabled Iranian guy, the cancer lady, the broken neck and jail dude, the girls whose dad died when she was 15, the transgender guy. I don't think it's the contestants that play it up, it's the producers of the show, they try and generate voter sympathy for their favourites. They did it with that d*ckhead Ayltian last year and he won. I'd prefer if they gave limited coverage to their personal lives and let them win the public over with their talent and personality (which a lot of them with sad stories would do anyway because they're often the most down to earth and likeable).

A friend of mine is donating some of her blog space for R U OK? this week. It allows people to share their stories if they feel like it.

Have a look here

I am sort of OK today. Glad to know you are OK TP. :)

MP, definitely have a look at the above blog as my friend suffers from adrenal fatigue and talks about it very well. Hope the outlook brightens soon

I just watched it online and what's going on with Gavin Larkin...had me tearing up at the thought of him having fought so long and hard but now that's it and leaving his family behind, especially the one who is still battling a brain tumor. So, puts all the minor stuff into perspective, doesn't it? I mean, no matter the minor annoyances in life, none of us would want to leave our kids sooner than we ever anticipated.

The Iranian guy got through because he could sing... until he got knocked out. I don't think they've put anyone through for sympathy but you're right, the camera work and editing really plays on it. I'm glad I didn't see it last year. Don't know Ayltian but his name puts me off...
