A gas heater is around the $1000 mark but vary according to capacity/brand etc.

And it gets colder than this I'm afraid!

I have a metal pipe coming out of the wall and they say its a gas pipe but there is no chimney like there was in London - that sounds ignorant but I dont know much about gas:o

I shall have to start saving.

It should be a pipe with a right angled usually silver connecter thingy on it. You dont need a chinmney, there should be a vent in the wall above where the gas pipe is. The heaters dont need a chimney, they just burn away happily. Good (more expensive ones) have oxygen detectors in and switch should there not be enough air.

Or of you're in Freo just get down to the Norfolk, they used to have a lovely open fire there in winter!

I have found the metal pipe and there is an air vent near it on a similar level to the pipe.

We just need to save up for the gas fire now. We are still not fully furnished, the sofa bed is killing my bloody back and next month we hope to get our 3 seater and 2 seater.

Then its a bookcase and a desk.

The moon last night was just as spectacular. We could see it rising from behind the clouds..........the whole sky was lit up. Stood watching it for about ten minutes as it rose. It really was a spectacular sight!!

I go out at about 11 every night to let the dog pee before bed. First thing I do it look up at the moon and stars. No matter how long I live here I will never get over how stunning the sky is.
