I had some problems with a faulty panasonic camera, it stopped working after 3mths I returned it for warranty repair and got some a unnecessary hassle with it.

Re: A question for our technical bods

Sony would get my vote, i bought a Sony DCR-DVD403E and it's has been brilliant. Been using it for about a year and have yet to find anything wrong with it.

Have you looked at the new camcoders with hard drives built in, i would consider buying one of those if i was buying now. Sony DCR-SR range or JVC's Everio GZ-MG range gets good reviews.

Cheers

Andy

i looked at them, but knowing how quick alan operates, (bless him) thats why i'm looking at something i can (sorry he can) record straight onto disc and then i can pop it into the post for all my UK family (acutally all my family, as we have none over here)

Hard drive means he has to put it onto disc, (like wait forever la la la )

Re: A question for our technical bods

With the Sony you just touch a button on the screen when your finished using the disk and it sets the dvd disk up for using in a normal dvd player, then pop it in the post... sorted. Even i managed to figure it out in a couple of minutes :D

thanks Andydon

I shall have a look at that one, although i'm limited to cost now which is why i chose the ones above,

but i shall have a look and if i can get it cheaper in the UK, have a friend going over soon for a couple of weeks, i shall get them to pick one up for me there and bring it back if better value

You can never ever go wrong with Sony be it a TV, DVD player or even DVD Camcorder, a little but more expensive than the equivalent brands but you pay for what you get and that's quality
