QLD - The Backward State

So, looks like we are not going to even get a referendum on Daylight savings even though the survey put out returned 63% in favour of having a referendum on the issue. I really don't understand how this affects regional qlders, the proposal is that nothing changes for them, it changes for those in the South East, yet they get a vote on it.

"But we accept that we are a government for the whole state, and that means governing for regional Queensland and doing the right thing by all parts of the state," she said.
Seems it's only regional Qld that matters - even if it wouldn't affect them (will sit back and wait for some creative reasons to be suggested why it would).

I honestly couldn't care less about DLS. In fact if asked to vote I'd have probably voted not to have it but I didn't vote and don't know anyone who did. What were the actual numbers? 67% is hardly overwhelming support from SEQLD. Don't know why that makes QLD backward but not to worry.

Why is it such a surprise? No one I know even knew about the vote, never mind voted. It was a done deal anyway which tells you something
I'd love DLS only cos the days aren't long enough - but having said that my life aint going to go down hill because of it. No big deal, just a pain in the ass
