Qantas will once again be operating SIN-LHR and dropping Dubai services (leaving all those to Emirates).

That is outstanding news.
I cannot stand Dubai airport. Singapore is far superior.
And the A330's Qantas have been flying to Singapore suck. Old entertainment systems.
Assuming that means we get the newer planes back on the Singapore - Oz route?

Well MEL and SYD to SIN will be operated by A380s...but that product is getting a bit long in the tooth...pretty sure some of the A330s have a superior onboard product. I think Qantas announced the A380s would be refitted soon though.

Sounds like by March it should be all sorted either way, and more services to Singers.

I assumed a lot of people were now giving up on the seatback systems. The movies get butchered, even if you can find something worth watching. Load up a phone or tablet with audio, movies or maybe a entire Netflix series and leave the entertainment system for the moving map/camera view. All you need is a USB power socket.

Flying back from Melbourne a couple of nights ago, it got the jitters over Mittagong kind of like a buffering issue.

Don't like QANTAS but anyone who stops using Dubai is ok in my book. I hate that airport!

So happy I could dance round my handbag like moneypenny
Been doing QF1 and 2 for a few years so I spend as little time as possible in DXB but now I can go back to stopping over in Singapore to see old friends and eat lots (and go to the dentist) instead of having to go over separately. Or as well as, hopefully.

You can now download Netflix plus add some mkvs on your tablet and you can do away with the stripped down shite that they serve on airline IFE systems. As long as your seat has a USB port, you're sorted for the duration
