That's bad news :(

It's awful selling a house at the best of times but it's so much worse if you get messed around. K sent.

Re: pulled out

Try not to despair.

We too are struggling to sell at anywhere near asking price. House been on market since May 07.

We have visa and need to validate by May 08.

OH has a job offer and employer wants him to commit to start date.

We are both so touchy we are arguing over the slightest thing - latest argument was how much we should lower the asking price on house !

I got so stressed today I told OH not to ever mention Australia again to me ! I think it is human nature that when we are under stress we need to find a way out and sometimes in this situation you think "bugger it, I don't want to go anymore".

We have now decided we will be entirely straight with employer and say we cannot commit to a date because of circumstances - if OH loses job offer so be it - sob, sob !

And we will go and stay with friends in Perth in spring to validate visa.

I sound so level headed now. I will be back to chewing my fingers again in the morning !

Thanks for the replies guys I am starting to feel a teeny weeny bit better. I know a lot of us are in the same situation and would like to wish good luck to you all. We had a drive-by tonight so we are hoping that we have a call from the agents within the next couple of days, fingers and everything else crossed.

House selling in the UK is sh**e, there are far too many of us on here who have had this happen to us, it's about time they overhauled the system!

Sending you karma, hope it helps

Going thu' it all too here. I'd like to think every struggle forward makes it all the more worthwhile. It has been quite a test at times of our marriage so far. hoping our buyers sort everything out after one chain-crash earlier and before the house prices tumble down which was todays depressing predictions on the news.

If it was too easy everyone would do it after all !

Re: pulled out

I can really sympathize with everything you are going through. We accepted an offer on our house in April when we were still in the UK and as we were coming over to Oz in August, assumed that this would give us plenty of time to complete. Erm......no! We flew out on 10th August and as of todays date, we still havent completed! No problems with our buyer but his buyer has changed and we have had to wait for searches etc etc to be completed again and monies to get together for their deposit. Its all time and I know we are still lucky to have a buyer but if his buyer falls through again then we lose ours too!

We decided to come out here anyway as my husband already had a job so we didnt have the initial money worries although after 6 weeks we could now do with the completion date ASAP. It is due to complete next week but who knows?

Good luck with finding a new buyer, K sent your way.
