Not been out and had a look yet but whos doing the best deals with the new PS 3 here in Perth ???

I saw something Harvey Norman were advertising that looked pretty good, but to be honest, i havent seen anything else to compare it to.

$1000 seems a bit rich to me.

I'd wait a while till the price goes down. I also heard that Oz gamers with the PS2 will have problems playing many games on the PS3.

Still says you can play them though , i had a saga then xbox , so don't have any ps2 games

My OH is on about getting a PS3 when they come out, but as we're moving to Oz next year, will it all work okay (including playing DVDs) when we move?

If not I'll try and persuade him to wait until we move (can't imagine that'll go down well though....)

I was told this arvo in eb uk games ok on the aus one but dvds dunno ???


Also if we trade in the old xbox and 20 game its $699 may go 4 that as xbox been playin up i bit !

The Oz PS3 and the European are the same.

For most current consoles, games would be OK but not DVDs. I expect the PS3 to be the same.

The best I've seen here for the PS3 is $1000 too. I wouldn't mind upgrading but I don't use the old PS2 that much so at a grand it's out of the question. I reckon there'll be a price war before Christmas and they'll be about $699 by then. Remember, you heard it here first

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but the new Xbox 360 Elite (120GB) is due to be released very soon, and experts are predicting that the PS3s price will drop when the new version Xbox is released...

Do what I am doing, do not waste your money now when in a years time this item will probably be 2/3 of what it costs now, maybe even less...When the Blu-Ray format fails like the experts think it will, Sony will be forced to bring the price down to increase sales of the PS3 in order to recoup their losses on the Blu-Ray format...And we as consumers will benefit...

I would never spend $1000 on a games console, and I'm sure as hell not buying it for the Blu-Ray movies...I don't see the problem with good old DVDs! I'm quite happy to use my PS2 and Wii for the moment until Sony reviews their pricing policies...
