Hi Jen
I don't think pot bellied pigs are allowed in Oz. They have really strict quarantine legislation here to protect Australia and its agriculture industry from non-native species invasions and diseases. After all they're still dealing with camels, brumbies, cane toads et al. If they won't let the zoo industry import ungulates, I don't think they're gonna make an exception for us Joe Publics.
Not sure which state you're heading to, but if it's any consulation, here in NSW you're allowed 3 native mammal species as pets: dingos, spinifex hopping-mice and plains rats, though you need a licence for the last two. Believe it or not you don't need a licence for a dingo because it's the only native mammal that's not 'protected' under NSW legislation.
Or you could just get a dog or a cat!

There seems to be a quite big 'mini pig' scene in Oz. Have a google, they look SO cute. Lots of councils will not let you keep pigs though, it depends on where you live. You would have to check.
