It makes sense though. We have 5 kids and I have never allowed them by a paddling pool without me but you know what kids are like.....best do some pricing at Bunnings.

So it turns out that not only do you need a fence, which I can hardly object to but a building permit is required too. Irrespective of size (over a depth of 30cm) it will set you back $400 :curse: I'm afraid the kids will have to be happy bathing in their own sweat.

Yeah, a guy from the council returned my call and then 20 minutes later another council dude called. He confirmed what his partner in extortion said. Jeez! The pool costs $100, the water $150 and a roll of barbed wire can't be that expensive.
