Default Pool for $32000

Hi there

Anyone recently installed a pool?

Is it possible to fully install a pool (including fencing, pavers or whatever etc) for $32000 or less?

I have seen pools advertised for just over $20000 but just wonder about hidden costs etc

Thanks guys x

For $32000 I would expect Olympic size.

I'm no expert as I've never had one, but it comes up on my triathlon forums now and again. Seems like the ones quoting $20k, are all dependant on dead flat ground, no access issues etc. All the add ons come with 'extra landscaping, taking fences down, rebuilding, appliying for easement access from neighbours and stuff like that.

In other words, very few people have a backyard set up that meets the lowest quote criteria.

Yeah that's kind of what I thought but wonder how much roughly all of these extras and things cost?
Thanks

Unfortunately you probably won't know until it's completely done. You'll get a much better idea if you get them round to get an 'all inclusive quote' but I suspect they'll be trickier to get rid than a double glazing salesman and will still have 'unforseen' get out clauses. But if they come and have a look at your place you should be much closer to the mark.

Do any of the pool building companies have 'configurator sites' the like car companies (where you click an addition like alloy wheels and it automatically adjusts the price). Just a thought?

You would have to budget, friends of mine put a pool in a couple of years ago and with liquid limestone, glass pool fencing and a pretty high end finish it cost them just shy of $40k. All those extras add up and god help you if you hit limestone which in some suburbs of Perth is a given!

$20k wouldn't get you much of a pool. It would be pretty small and like the others have said would only be $20k if your yard is ideal. You need to add in the cost of the crane hire, removal of the dirt they dig out, the water to fill it, etc etc etc.

Ours was IIRC about $27 then with fencing, liquid limestone, etc it came to about $40k.

We looked at getting one last year and got 3 different quotes. For what we wanted was $25K just for the pool. When we added all the extras for decking, paving, fencing, electrician, landscaping etc it brought it up to about $40K

We now rent a place with a pool!

And don't forget running costs and the potentially negative impact on your house value

We had one installed 5 years ago and I appreciate that costs may have gone up since then. Ours is 7 x 4 metres, pebblecrete inerior, stone wall water feature and we paid $22K (including crane hire, levelling of the land and removal of dirt they dug out.) . We had glass fencing intalled around 3 sides which cost $4K and paving another $3k. It took 4 days to fill it. At the time there were no water restrictions so we were able to use town water.

I can't believe people are paying 40 k for a swimming pool.

So for a 4 x10 metre pool with solar heating and completely finished what do you say is the going rate?

Caveat - not what you would pay as this is not relevant but what is the average market rate

We paid around $50k 4 years ago without landscaping - pool is 4 x 11 with a gas heated spa and solar heated pool

I have no idea what the going rate would be but I personally wouldn't consider paying anything like that for a pool. What others choose to pay isn't my concern to be honest.
