Default Plenty of work for bricklayers?

I was out in Brisbane and Gold Coast in Jan and Feb and there was plenty of adverts in the paper, job sites etc for bricklayers. Is that still the case and if so does anyone have any idea of the rates? If i remember rightly i think they were paying about 20 dllr and hour???? Cheers everyone.
