Its only the pure "Brissle"accent which is harsh though - few miles outside the actual city and you get a proper West Country/Somerset accent, much softer and nicer. I pick it up again every time I go home

Yes that is quite right, there are 20 different accents within 20 miles of Bristol, not all 'shite'.
