'a place in the sun'
Arrived home mid-morning to find my drive blocked by a car and a camera crew from channel 4's 'a place in the sun' filming my house!
Turns out they're making a programme about sub-divisions and were filming in the house opposite which is on the market. Theirs is a relatively new build, where the owner has demolished the old property and built two new shiny ones in it's place. Ours is a really ugly, original 1950s monstrosity on a big block which I can only imagine they were filming to demonstrate the 'before and after' story. Spoke to the presenter who informed me that the show will be aired sometime in January. Can just imagine the piece to camera as our house appears on the screen...'if you've got a revolting, tired, run down old house with crap windows and blocked drains, but on a big block in a very popular area, you would do well to consider bulldozing the lot and cashing in with 2 new builds.'
We're going back to the UK for Christmas so I hope we get to see the show. Have to say the presenter (whose name I can't remember, but is pregnant) was very nice.
