Was that the motive? Jealousy?

If they find him Guilty I will totally lose my current belief and faith in the South African justice system... Surely it will stay true to form like the US system in the OJ case.

Possibly. He seemed to like aiming firearms at people. And shooting randomly when pissed off.

The problem with OJ was that while pretty much everyone believed he was guilty the DA put on such a crap case filled with so many holes that the jury really didn't have a whole lot of option than to acquit him. OJ had a great defence team and a judge who was very interested in the fame that presiding over the trial brought. Those two factors along with an incompetent prosecution gave the jury nothing to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did it.

Yehp, well it didn't earn its Monika as the "land of the free" for nothing and I reckon SA can match it :)

Hey Zulu, what happens to white dudes in South African prisons? I would have thought they'd be raped to death within the first few days. Or do they have to form Aryan Brotherhood style gangs for protection?

He will be slapped in with the masses, where he should belong. They may try to isolate him for a while as he did bring some positive media coverage and money to the country, but once the novelty wears off, he will enjoy the comforts like the rest of them. He had better dry up those eyeballs or he is in for a very interesting time.

Maybe he can cower screaming in terror behind a door for a while before meeting whatever fate the prison population decides is his.

Ok just playing devils advocate here. There is pretty much no dispute he shot her. The question is, is it manslaughter or murder. Did he intend to shoot dead his girlfriend or shoot an intruder. That's why I'm looking for a motive to shoot dead his girlfriend. I can't see one yet.

BTW. I have no opinion on murder or manslaughter. Haven't seen enough of the case to be a judge.

I don't think he thought it was a burglar - I also don't think he was thinking at all. But when he shot the gun I think he knew it was his girlfriend in the bathroom, and whether or not he intended to kill her he intended to harm her, and if he had of been thinking he would have realised that it was a likely outcome so I reckon murder
