Fire and bridges. Years ago my neice and I drove all the way down the west coast of the US from Vancouver Canada to San Francisco. Coming back we took the coast highway instead of the freeway and in Astoria Oregon there is a bridge across the Columbia River that we had to cross. I can still see me in the driver's seat of the car bawling my eyes out at the thought of having to drive over it.

Driving a car - or any vehicle....which is daft because I can ride a bike with multiple gears, on roads which are much more dangerous to cyclists than car drivers. I did once get a licence to drive an automatic (never could sort out gears) - but gave up driving as soon as I could, and now there is NO WAY I will drive again. My husband prefers to do the driving, and we live near the very efficient suburban rail, so I don't have to drive. It puts my blood pressure up anyway, and I don't want to risk a stroke, which is a perfectly good excuse and I'm sticking to it..

I used to vomit if I saw a spider, I now reach (geddit) for the Mortein. Beetroot makes me dry heave just looking at it and it there's some on my plate or the knife that sliced it then sliced something else onto my plate I can't eat any of it. Also the same with chocolate. There's nothing I am truly scared of now though although I would be fairly terrified if I ever discovered I was pregnant

Major one is public speaking :o I even dropped out of college when I was 16 I was that scared of a forthcoming presentation. Tried everything hypnotherapy, EFT, drugs (prescribed!), public speaking courses, Toastmasters etc ... nothing works :(

Not a big fan of heights or flying either. Used to work on 26th floor and couldn't go within about a metre of the windows! Don't know how people live in those highrises :p

terrified of spiders, clusters of things or things that look knobbly, (very strange I know, but then so am I.) Also don't like heights and steep drops, a nightmare combo for me as I love ski-ing. All chair lifts and gondolas are a nightmare and I must be the only person who prefers to ski in a 'white out' as I can't see the gradient of the slope.

Haven't read the who;e thread so not sure if its been mentioned but I have a fear of driving over bridges that have water under them. One of the good things about leaving Scotland was that I'd never need to drive over the Forth road bridge in Edinburgh again.
