Default PAYG sims

So I'm going to need to pick up a Vodafone or Virgin PAYG sim early next week. Is this possible without a permanent address? or has all this anti-terrorist malarkey cracked down on that? Do you just get them in a mobile phone shop? I guess they're easy to find in Brisbane CBD?

A vodafone one can be bought from woolworths for a couple of dollars. Not sure if you need id but probably best to take some cos they can be very arsey about stuff like that here.

Warming up nicely for you, whendo you arrive and where will you be living?

Mobile phone shops, booths in the middle of shopping malls, Aus Post, all sell them. Take your passport with you, and a driving licence if you have one, all valid ID for PAYG.

Brilliant. I'll take my passport with me.

We're arriving very early on Tuesday morning. Spring Hill to start with then who knows?!? It's all a big adventure.

I'm on vodafone and you can get whats known as a 29 dollar cap, which costs you 26 dollars if ya top up at woolies. That'll give you 150 dollars worth of credit but needs to be used within a month.

good luck and safe journey

I wish I'd seen that before yesterday. Could've saved myself $3! Will top up there next month then.
