Default Party Plan Australia... bad Idea

Having words with HIM....

To fund my thermomix dream I was going to become a demonstrator...

Love cooking
Love gadgets
Used to fund my virgin cosmetics habit by doing the same.. Made a good bit extra too....
Have some spare time on my hands only working casual
Would like to do someing NON nursing for a change

HE says...

You dont have contacts in Australia.. No family/friends who will take pity on you to help get you started
You arent going to sell many of them down here at almost $2k a pop
Its the wrong time of year, people wont be spending just after christmas
Its a large outlay to get started
You're not first on the bus unlike last time
YOU JUST WANT A BLOODY THERMOMIX AND IT'LL END UP IN THE CUPBOARD with the ice cream maker, pie magic, donut wizard, sandwich toaster, kenwood chef, slow cooker, double slow cooker, rice steamer, george foreman, popcorn maker... Etc etc etc etc... And we havent got room for another one...

What do you reckon? is it worth upsetting the apple cart and going ahead... Or should I listen....

I hate anything party plan. Won't go to the parties, won't host them, bah humbug. I don't' really get invited to them anyway, not something my friends are into either.

I hate party plan too....

I used to take the approach... Your friend has invited you over for girly drinks and a bit of fun... Please DONT buy anything unless you LOVE it because its damned expensive and there really is NO obligation to buy.. Just have a laugh... Use it as a chance to try looks you wouldnt dream of wearing...

Got to the stage when I Used to have to pass bookings over..

How much do they want from you as startup outlay? Frankly, it should be zero.

See http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1739562 . Looks to me as if the competition is half the price, and if anyone sane is looking to potentially spend $2000, you'd expect them to do their homework. Couple that with the 'warning' on the front of their site (eBay sales), and I'd say the market would be cut from under you by cheaper competition.

Pass, from a business standpoint.

If you really want one, I would go for it. If it does not work out, I am sure you could keep your demo thermomix and pay it off in installments.

You could also buy one and pay in installments, so no big outlay upfront.

I have all the gadgets you have, plus more, and I have a thermomix and I love it.

I use it more than everything else

I love the thermomix too.... Being on this healthy eating kick, I haven't been on a diet, just changed my eating habits ...I'm really aware that anything I consume has to be good value for calories...

Like copious amounts of alcohol.....

As for the cheap competition.... Yup overseas purchases might impact adversely... Lets face it I buy all my quilting materials online... But wouldnt the invalidation of the warantee put people off when its a significant purchase??? aftersales service and guarentee has to count for something..

IMHO The cheap brand isnt really serious competition.... Its not man enough.... Yet.

I look at it as an investment... My le crueset pans have lasted me 20+ years... The old miele washing machine I left behind was 15 yrs+

One of our ENs at work has one... Its her that turned me on to them... She works part time... Isnt a fly in fly out mega bucks wife.... But still invested in one...

Its HIS reservations thats stopping me....

I wouldn't do the party planner thing but if you have to have one then why not sell the unused stuff first?

Kevin has already placed first dibs on all my unwanted kitchen eqipment... So nothing back on that

Took her minutes to cotton on and text me with a list of equipment they want...

After calling me an idiot on fb

Its apparently not "party plan" you buy from demonstrations.... Conducted either in your own home or i. The consultants home...

I prepare a 5 course meal....whilst you watch and I bang on about it.. You eat it... Fall in love with the ubergadget and splash out two grand on one....

Funny, Ihave people over for dinner all the time and no one has ever tried to buy my oven from me... But then again I dont suppose I've tried selling it to them either... Will have to give it a go...

Listen to HIM.

Actually don't just listen but take heed.

In fact don't just listen and take heed but do what he says.

Why does she have to be an au pair? Can't she just be a Swedish bimbo?
