The big question, how to you fight a religion.

As much as Islam should be banned in the west, spoilt for many by a few rotton apples, that would just breed further radicals.

As you suggest, closed borders would be a start. Unfortunately it really has to be all about building walls and dividing.

Its a real shame the world had come to this.

The French should target something like ISIS HQ in Raqqa and flatten it - symbolic too

Buy a fleet of drones armed with Hellfire and start a whole shedload of killing

West and East are going to start separating

Meanwhile on the human side of it....many of us have friends, family in Paris. I have a lovely friend there who I met in Brisbane when she was backpacking. She loves music and goes to a lot of concerts......
It was a loooong couple of hours before I knew she was safe.

RIP those who were not so lucky.

The problem here is that many of the french far right will want to lash out at the muslim population (of which there are 2.1m in france). Which plays directly into the hands of the people who planned and carried out this attack.

France will need a displacement activity if there's not to be bloody warfare on the streets - and it's likely to be bloody warfare in syria. Which in turn means more syrian refugees who less will want to take now.

It's also likely that the french will be less forgiving of religious zealots in general.

Finding a path that doesn't make it worse is going to be difficult, and I'm not feeling that the "closed borders" is a positive sign.

It seems the early reports of trouble at the France Germany football match are false, there were explosions near the stadium, but they were agt the Bataclan concert, the Stade wasn't involved, although it was close to the Bataclan. The whole of the BBC news this morning has been reports from Paris and around the world about the atrocity, and I really amazed that Cameron hasn't been at the forefront with at least a televised statement, instead he has limited himself to a written statement given out to the media.

Paris attacks: We are all at war with Islamic State now. We must not back down - Telegraph

Yes you are Con, yes you are

Time to harden your hearts, stiffen your resolve, seal your borders, bring on the killing

You punch me in the face, I hit you with a sledgehammer

A body for an eye
