Re: In, or out
Yes not a good day for Britain but perhaps a populist outcry against globalisation and the flawed neoliberal economic policy being shoved down peoples throats over recent decades.
On the up side I wonder if the chances of buying an apartment in one of London's West localities will become more affordable?
It will be interesting just how the financial sector accepts the possible outcome. German language journals have been advocating a Brexit will push Frankfurt bid to be the prime centre of finance in Europe no harm at all.

I think they will jump ship, and fast.
I have a feeling that a deal will get done, an election will get called, with at least one party saying they will not leave.
It seems to be only now that they are taking this seriously, and they are talking as if its all still in play.

Re: In, or out
Bye bye Nissan Sunderland.... They wont be able to afford the 3pct to 10pct tariff when the next models come out.
What other companies will fall victim ?
Food costs to rise at least 20 pct ?

EDF say they will still go ahead with Hinckley Point

Re: In, or out
Tariffs, devaluation and border controls..... Nissan wont be able to afford to stay...not in 4 years when the next models come out. They will move to Poland or even Turkey.... Somewhere in the EU for sure.
They will be forced to by cost... unless the pound dropping to extremely low levels manages to offset those costs.
Then there are extra costs for importing raw materials, so I doubt it.
Scotland will be out of the UK by 2020 now..... Ergo Nissan stays on the British Isles and saves face.

Re: In, or out
Why? There were Brits retiring to Europe before the EU and there will be Brits continuing to do so. There were never visa restrictions for retiring or visiting between the UK and France
