Re: Our Tune

Me and my man's song is "Don't Dream It's Over" Crowded House. Our Wedding song was "You do something to me" Paul Weller.

Always stop what I'm doing and have a reflective moment when I hear that Crowded House song. Aaaaaah.

A friend had that for her first dance - apparently husband-to-be had been dispatched to the record shop to buy their 'favourite tune' for their classes to practise the first dance, but instead bought that  They did look fantastic dancing to it

The Real Thing 'you to me are everything' was a special song many years ago when it was re-released into the charts in the late 80's.

Another special song is 'Don't Dream it's Over' by Crowded House - definately our tune :)

Our song is probably (Dido - Take my Hand ) we ended up using it as the good lady came down the aisle.

First song (superbly performed by a friend of ours) was Oasis - Wonderwall

Other's from the past that bring back memories, would be:
Babyd - Let me be your fantasy
Faithless - Insomnia
Tori Amos - Professional Widow
Jamiroquai - Space Cowboy (Morales Remix)

God Only Knows, by The Beach Boys.

I was lucky enough to see Brian Wilson perform it live in Kings Park a couple of years ago. He introduced it by saying that Paul McCartney had told him he thought it was the best song ever written!

Re: Our Tune

Very very sadly the first song my and the other half smooched to was The Commodores "Three Times a Lady" and it was in Barnet General Hospital Social Club where hubby and his mate were doing a disco. We didn't "do" the wedding bit, well we did but not anything more than the hold hands, popped a ring on and said I do(s) but had we have done we would have had Jim Croce "Time In A Bottle" - brilliant song. Will have it at our funerals instead:lol:

Stevie Wonder - For once in my life (we both like the words)

Van Morrison - Moondance (confession: I first heard - and danced to - this with a previous boyfriend but we both like it)

Elvis Presley - Burning love (because it makes OH laugh when I sing 'hunka hunka burnin' love')

Moon River - this isn't my favourite, but it's OH (probably something to do with Audrey Hepburn...)

The Jack Johnson song mentioned is lovely :)

As we're likely never to have the opportunity to dance to these songs at our wedding, I just have to make do with a shuffle round the living room :D

I had to apologise for S Club 7 to the Aussies at work they brought great shame to UK music:eek:

Just so I don't have to sleep with one eye open tonight:unsure: - Love is All Around Wet Wet Wet was our wedding dance song. I even remember Whigfield's Saturday as another of our songs as it was played a lot when we had our first holiday together. Why couldn't they have been something cool - I did have le legover premiere, as the French would say, to Led Zeppelin but that is probably too much information:lol:
